Bath Time Alphabet Scavenger Hunt!!

Bath time is not only fun, but it is totally educational when it includes an Alphabet Scavenger Hunt!
Who doesn't like learning when it is fun? My son had a blast with this activity!

I placed a set of plastic alphabet magnets that I picked up at Wal-Mart for $1 on the bottom of the bath tub and filled it with water and bubble bath.

I gave him a magnetic wand to aid him in his hunt....

and the hunt was on!

I painted a metal baking sheet( I picked it up for $1 from the Dollar Tree) with chalk board paint and gave it to him to collect his letters on.  I told him which letters to find and he searched until he found them. Another way of doing this is to write the letters you want him to find on the chalkboard. This can also be done with number magnets, which will be our next scavenger hunt for sure!

Super Easy Rainbow Glow Bath!

My kids LOVE their Glow Baths! We did a true glow bath and a blue glow bath in the past. Today, we did a Rainbow Glow Bath! This was by far the easiest Glow Bath that we have done as far as preparation goes. All I did is run a bath with some bubble bath, added a bunch of glow sticks (I got a pack of 15 from the Dollar Tree, I used 2 packs).  The kids played and played! After the bath, they enjoyed the glow sticks.

Fizzing Bath Paint

Bath time has always been a favorite for my kids, but lately, we have been taking it to a new level.
We have had many baths with bath paint and a few glow baths with glow paint, I had to come up with something new for bath time today. We made Fizzing Bath Paint today! My boys loved it, it was a hit! It was simple to make and was ready in under 2 minutes.

All you need is shaving cream, baking soda, and vinegar.

In a bowl, I mixed shaving cream with a lot of baking soda. I didn't measure how much, but it was enough to make a thick paste. I added a little food coloring just for fun.

I gave it to the kids to smear on the bath walls along with a spray bottle filled with vinegar.

They loved the idea of spraying it...

Then we watched and listened as it fizzed.

They enjoyed this little bath experiment, I am sure your kids will too!

Bath Time is Fun When it Glows Blue!

Tonight, we had our second glow bath, this one was blue. Pretty cool, huh? The kids definitely thought so!

The blue glow bath is quite a bit easier than the yellow one, at least I think so.
All I did is fill the tub with water like I normally would and added 5- 2 liter bottles of Tonic Water.
Turn the lights off and the Black Light(I picked mine up at Wal-Mart for under $11) on and you have yourself a Blue Glow Bath!

Make some glowing Bath Paint to go along with it.
I used a little bit of neon acrylic paint instead of food coloring, but neon food coloring would work too.

By the time the kids were finished with the bath paint, not only was the entire bathtub glowing, but so were they!
The beauty of it all is that it all washes off and goes down the drain!

Fun with Bath Paint!

My kids love to play in the bath!
Every once in awhile, I like to spice things up for them. Playing with bath paint has become a favorite for them and a favorite for me because it is quick, easy, and inexpensive to make. Everything you need can usually be found in dollar stores.

All you need is a can of shaving cream, food coloring, a paint brush, and containers to hold your "paint" in. I use a muffin tin that I picked up at the dollar store, it is great because it holds 6 colors in one tray, like a painters pallet.

Add the shaving cream to your muffin tin or containers.

Add the food coloring to the shaving cream, I use 4 drops of each color to make my paint.
Since the muffin tin holds 6 colors, we do the 4 colors of food coloring-- Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue, and we make purple by adding 4 drops of red and 4 drops of blue. The sixth color I usually just leave white.

Ready for bath time!!
Afterwards, all the mess goes right down the drain!

So Much Fun with Our Glow Bath!

This weekend I went all out and planned a Glow Bath for my boys!

I used about 8 non-toxic yellow highlighters to color the water (I cracked the plastic open and put the ink filled cotton into the running water) and a black light (I picked one up at Wal-Mart for under $11.00). I made some bath paints using shaving cream and a touch of neon acrylic paint to color them.  I also picked up some glow in the dark animals and dinosaurs from the dollar store for some extra glowing fun.  I set up some other random items that glow under the black light like neon orange pipe cleaners and neon pony beads.

With the lights on it looks like the green slime from Double Dare!

I found awesome neon planet wall stickers at the Dollar Tree-- for $1, I had to get them!

I bought a few bottles of Tonic-- it naturally glows blue under a black light.

I turned the lights off and turned the black light on-- Instant GLOWING fun!! The kids had an absolute blast and look forward to doing it again!
